About Cue:

The Cue Middle School Pack’s star is the Cue robot from Wonder Workshop.  Cue, unlike any other robot, is an engagingly sophisticated learning robot that will inspire hours of creative problem solving!  With something for beginning and advanced coders alike, Cue can grow with the user and take coding to the next level.

Three ways to learn coding:

Cue robot engages kids as they build coding proficiency by transitioning from Block-Based coding to text-based JavaScript We’ve also included Wonder, a state machine-based language designed specifically for our Robots.

Interactive AI:  with four unique personality avatars that you can try, this robot is a comedian trapped inside a robot’s body.  Cue can chat with you about books or tell you jokes and has a vocabulary of over 170, 000 words and 30, 000 text responses.

PD Course Details:

Gain a broader understanding of how coding and robotics fit into your everyday teaching with this foundational course (12 hours in total). Explore how tech tools can introduce students to computer science, addresses best practices of learning theory, complement thoughtful instructional design, and impact classroom environments. Delve into the why before tackling the what and the how of Wonder Workshop’s robots.

Each course module begins with an introduction and learning objectives for you, the educator, and then wraps up with a concrete connection to the Cue robot. The modules contain a mix of original and curated multimedia content, leveraging expertise and opinions from the field, plus have multiple checkpoints for reflection via Wonder Workshop’s Discussion Forum and FlipGrid (video reflections). Each course module is designed to take about two hours to complete (12 hours in total).
